RTR Manager (m/f)

We are partnering with our client, a well-known multinational organization in the pharmaceutical sector, to recruit an RTR Manager. This position will lead and manage the general ledger team within a modern Shared Service Center, supporting several European countries. The RTR Manager will oversee daily transaction processing, ensure the accuracy of journal entries, and drive the timely completion of monthly and annual closing procedures in accordance with both US GAAP and local statutory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise General Ledger operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all recorded transactions
  • Establish and enforce effective internal controls, with particular emphasis on SOX requirements
  • Oversee the compilation of financial reports, account reconciliations, and statement preparation
  • Perform in-depth account reviews to support decision-making and proactively address discrepancies
  • Manage the full scope of month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Evaluate and authorize journal entries submitted by team members
  • Serve as the principal contact for both internal and external audits, ensuring smooth and efficient audit processes
  • Lead, coach, and support the development of the general ledger accounting team
  • Guarantee organizational compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulatory changes
  • Coordinate the timely preparation and filing of VAT and other statutory declarations
  • Collaborate actively with local and international business stakeholders
  • Review period-end closing activities and propose improvements


Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience as a General Ledger Lead/Manager (at least 2+ years in a people management role) in SSC environment or similar
  • SOX audit related experience will be an asset
  • Willingness to engage operationally in accounting tasks, supporting the team in tight deadlines
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • Additional languages (i.e. Italian or Spanish) will be an asset
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle) and cash application software
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines
  • Customer service-oriented, with excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
